Since 2004
LANGEX began because someone came home
Twenty-two years guiding young Ecuadorians and professionals who decided to study, work or live abroad for a year.
In 2004 one of the founders of LANGEX came back to Quito after taking a language course in Ireland and living six months in Belgium. They returned with a new language, a different CV and one nagging thought: none of it had been hard to do. It had been hard to find out about.
The programs existed, the sponsors existed and the visas were granted. What didn't exist was someone in Ecuador who could explain how to get in, with the numbers on the table and no sales pitch. LANGEX was founded to be that person.
Twenty-two years on we do the same thing, in more countries and by the same rules. We have supported participants in work, study and exchange programs across more than twenty countries, working with sponsors designated by the U.S. Department of State, accredited exchange organizations in Europe, Asia and Oceania, and language schools recognized by each country's quality bodies.
LANGEX is part of Grupo Terneus, and is an authorized center to administer the ELTiS exam in Ecuador: the English placement test required for international students entering public schools in North America is taken here, without travelling.
How we work
We tell you if you don't qualify
We would rather lose a sale than send you to a consular interview you are going to lose. If your case isn't viable now, we say what's missing and how long it may take.
Costs go in writing
Program, visa, insurance, flight and arrival costs, itemized and signed. What is not included is written down too.
Money is part of the advice
Almost nobody pays for a program in one go, and there is no need to. We build the payment plan around your case: monthly instalments from the moment the paperwork starts, credit card, a student loan with your bank, complementary funds and agreements with your institution.
The program that fits, not the priciest
If your budget and language level point to Malta rather than London, we'll say so, even if the commission is smaller.
An advisor with a name
You are not passed around. The same person supports you from the first enquiry until you come back.
We answer the people who stay behind
Once you are abroad, the one calling with questions is usually a parent. We answer that phone too, from Ecuador.
Payment and financing
We know how hard a program can be to pay for, so there is more than one way to do it. Depending on the program, these are the financing routes we work with:
- Monthly instalments, from the moment your application starts.
- Credit card, up to 24 months.
- Student bank loans, with the bank of your choice.
- Agreements with complementary funds.
- Discount agreements with your institution.
Which of these applies to your case is settled together with the quote: the payment schedule is delivered in writing, fully itemized, before you decide.
