High School: a school year abroad
Study a semester or a full year at a school abroad while living with a host family. It is the program that transforms a teenager the most: they come back speaking another language and as a different person.
Student exchange is for teenagers in secondary school. They attend a local school alongside native students and live with a host family. Each destination sets its own age range and its own language requirement — in Germany, France, Italy and Japan that means the local language, not English.
No program guarantees that the year will be recognised back home: operators state in writing that grade placement, transferable credits and a diploma are not assured, and that repeating the year on return is a real possibility. Canada is the strongest exception, granting credit per completed class with an official transcript.
We offer destinations with very different school systems, costs and profiles. The USA runs on two separate tracks: the J-1 exchange in a tuition-free public school, and private school on an F-1 visa for students after a US diploma. Brazil is the most affordable and the one where Spanish already counts.
